Traditional Horse Racing

Central Aceh Regency with its capital Takengon is known by various names including “Negeri Diatas Awan”, “Tanoh Gayo High Plateau” and “Negeri Antara”. In the country there takes place an annual gayo folk feast featuring the traditional gayo horse race. Without the need for promotion and without the need for command, simultaneously the people who inhabited the tanoh gayo plateau at that time descended on the city of Takengon.
